Es sollte der CITIZEN KANE der Monsterfilme werden - episch, wuchtig, einzigartig. Doch eine Vielzahl gewichtiger Ereignisse brachten das Projekt fast gänzlich zum scheitern. Nach wenigen Tagen wurde der völlig überforderte Regisseur Richard Stanley (DUST DEVIL, HARDWARE) durch John Frankenheimer ersetzt und verschwand einfach mit unbestimmtem Ziel im Hinterland von Australien. Jahrelang hatte sich Stanley mit seinem Lieblingsstoff befasst, der Film war sein Traumprojekt. Diese Dokumentation aus dem Jahre 2014 ist eine Zusammenfassung der tragischen und skurrilen Ereignisse, die sich während der Dreharbeiten zu der Neuinterpretation des Stoffes im Jahre 1996 ereigneten.
