Σε ένα γαλλικό χωριό, ένας γηραιός άντρας και οι συγγενείς που του έχουν απομείνει βάζουν στο μάτι μια γειτονική τους οικία, ώστε να πάρουν την πηγή νερού και να ποτίσουν τα λουλούδια τους.
