Uriah rijdt een stadje binnen op zoek naar Slim Kovacs, de man die zijn vrouw heeft verkracht en vervolgens vermoord. Kovacs is in de stad met het voornemen een postkoets te beroven. Nadat hij de stad heeft verlost van de sheriff en de inwoners flinke schrik heeft aangejaagd, wordt Kovacs ingehuurd door de huurmoordenaar Kirchner om hem te beschermen. Een bekende van Kirchner blijkt ook een bekend gezicht voor Uriah te zijn. Uriah en Kirchner zullen eerst met elkaar moeten afrekenen, maar een bepaalde affectie en respect voor elkaar maakt dat niet makkelijker.
