LIVE IN CONCERT, is de legendarische One-Man-Show die wordt beschouwd als Richard Pryor's beste werk en de inspiratie voor alle stand-up comedians van vandaag. De show zit vol bijtende humor en spottend cynisme. Zowel blank als zwart wordt meedogenloos op de hak genomen. Maar de persoon die Pryor nog het minst ontziet is zichzelf. Met een grote dosis zelfspot vertelt hij over zijn eigen grote fouten in het leven, cocaïnegebruik, arrestaties, openlijke geweldpleging etc. Zijn eigen verslag over de zelfmoordpoging waar hij zichzelf in brand stak is wereldberoemd geworden. Niet alleen wordt hij gerekend tot de beste stand-up comedians, hij was ook nog eens hèt voorbeeld voor grote namen als Eddie Murphy en Chris Rock. "Hij was de Charlie Parker van de comedy, een meester in het vertellen van de waarheid, wat alle komieken die na hem kwamen heeft beïnvloed".
