Larry Herron
Larry Herron grew up in and around Kalamazoo, Michigan. His family settled in nearby Mattawan (a town known for excellent educational standards and cows across the street from the high school). It was here that Larry developed a passion for the arts. After graduating from high school in 1998, Larry became an on-air personality at WIRX radio in nearby Benton Harbor. His on-air characters and interactions with the public garnered the status of a "local celebrity." It was at this radio station that Larry fully realised acting as a profession. After nearly 5 years at the radio station, Larry left to enrol as a full-time acting student at Western Michigan University's nationally acclaimed theatre program. Larry's work ethic and maturity blossomed as he worked at a local homeless shelter, maintained a full class load, and continuously performed leading roles in WMU's theatre program. The most recognised role at Western was the nationally acclaimed production of "Othello," where Herron played the title role. Having never performed Shakespeare before, Herron enrolled in Oxford University's BADA program, where he trained with Shakespeare professionals from the UK and around the world. Once "Othello" opened, it earned regional and national honours that literally brought the production to a weekend of performances at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, D.C. In a turn of fate, that production of "Othello" closed 24 hours before Herron and his mother, Donna Gardner, were due to graduate from Western. After earning his master's degree and a few surfing lessons from UC San Diego in 2008, Larry moved to Los Angeles. He quickly found a close-knit relationship with his good friends Ted Schachter and Brantley Brown at Schachter Entertainment. Between auditions and shoots, Herron regularly tutors high school students and spends time with his dear friends and the love of his life, Tunisia Hardison.
